The Road Man
Humans have become obsessed with objects. For good reason, their ancestors migrated suddenly away from this plane of existence. Thus leaving those that were behind distressed beyond their imaginings. Those humans had become so good at shifting to other worlds that this world was no longer necessary to stabilize their perceptions. Thus those left behind began to create objects and items to fixate the assemblage points here.
At first these focal points allowed the trained eye to see beyond and within. This benefited their abilities to maintain connection through dreaming to what their forefathers had taught and learned. These channels also maintained connections to history and to each other across vast distances. One could think of it as a spiritual/mental Internet. But with time, and continued power struggles from the predator, the object became more important than the energy it held.
Dreaming took on a morbid obsession with creating. What we saw within the dream, we demanded to create in reality. Great cities and structures to say nothing of alters and focal points were created. We elevated the past stories to the level of gods. Where the ancients understood the mystery and the unknown without words honoring the mother as the creator of life, these twisted seers became obsessed with technologies of spirit and specific manifestations of the unknown, not the unknown.
The ancient seers shifted so completely into the abstract through energizing all the bands of awareness within and aligning them with all those outside their luminescence, that they barely left a trace of what or who they were. This complete shift left the human band of awareness in a tail spin of fear and abandonment. The result was a time of humans preying on humans. Thus the old seers were forced to practice techniques of awareness in a different manner than their predecessors. They found that the ancients lacked discipline in managing awareness. Thus the old seers chose to move outward from the common band of awareness that humans shared with a different set of skills. They chose to connect with the unknown fully without looking deep into the unknowable depths of the abstract universe at large. They chose to work slowly and steadily rather than in one magnificent maneuver which aligned them with the emanations at large.
Reality as we conceive it to be is a matter of fixating our perception and maintaining the patterns. The patterns are hidden in our assumptions about the way things work, the information we get from our feedback loops of mother culture. Mother culture is no friend to true freedom because the bulk of perceptual fields that the greater human band of awareness is there to limit our perception to a mode of preserving the fixation of our assemblage points, the mechanics of how we see the world.
Shifting our perceptual framework, our seeing, requires that we look beyond the gravitational field and weight of commonly held perceptual frameworks, known as the common mold of man, or the overwhelming weight of our combined perceptions as physical beings and belief that this is all we are. This is but one band of awareness in a greater field of infinite bands of awareness that are possible. The seer know by direct experience that these bands, all bands of awareness are self fulfilling, self limiting, and self sustaining systems that move along direct lines of fixated perception. To shift perception is a masterful act of the warrior of freedom. In fact it is THE master act of the warrior of freedom.
Art is the ultimate pursuit of knowing the beauty, the patterns, the colors of this amazing world. As artists we stretch into the realm of the unknown and bring back wonders for the eye to see. The warrior/seer eventually submits all his knowledge, awareness and action to the utter pursuit of the mystery of creation. And thus touches the divine in all things on earth and beyond.
This dance is amazing. The overwhelming power of intent is all that guides the warrior/seer to become the artist of life’s mysteries. The warrior cleans his house, himself, removes all obstructions to the fluidity that is pure seeing. Silence manages that seeing and personal power drives the warrior to the seer. When we see completely and still recognize the limits of even our seeing, we open to new bands of awareness beyond comprehension… then the artist takes full charge and shifts his perception throughout the matrix of the luminescence of life.
This term on the Toltec path is one loaded with social conditioning and pitfalls of the monkey mind. The warrior of freedom is a sober warrior. Sobriety is key to freedom. So taking time to look at sobriety goes hand in hand with recapitulation in all its forms.
Sobriety is for the warrior defined as the efficient use of our personal energy. It is the ability to not fall into the trap of repetitious behaviors which drain the warrior. Seeing and dreaming cannot open up for the warrior without sobriety. It is not about chemistry. Drinking or not drinking alcohol is not the definition of sobriety in this case. That is a social convention and norm. The warrior of freedom sees that all chemicals can lead to insobriety or sobriety depending on the repetition of use. Insobriety creates fast ways to shut down potentials and a chemical used repetitiously limits our perception. We are left in these moments to skimming the surface when we fall into insobriety with anything. And chemicals are not the only thing that can create insobriety. Repetitions of emotions, drives to satisfy selfish needs, even repetitive intake of similar food can all lead to insobriety for the warrior of freedom.
Wind hollers in the night
Leaves rustle with the moonlight
Dreaming splits across the plains.
We are split beings. We are born to a world of deep perceptual frameworks, vast enticements of feeling, a range of wonder and beauty. We are born to choose constantly, or retreat from choice. We are born to move free across the plains like the wind and rustle with the leaves in the moonlight. We are split in two carefully, craft-fully, shortly after birth. One world, that of constant exploration with the fullness of who we are, and the other a managed barnyard full of animals such as ourselves who are afraid to move except with the herd.
“They (the New Seers) discovered that we have a companion for life,” he said, as clearly as he could. “We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives. Human beings are its prisoners. The predator is our lord and master. It has rendered us docile, helpless. If we want to protest, it suppresses our protest. If we want to act independently, it demands that we don’t do so.” The Active Side of Infinity – Carlos Casteneda.
It has taken me weeks to even come close to writing about this. Without any awareness, I came into battle with the predator in a way inconceivable to me up until this time. Intending complete freedom and a willingness to link fully to intent, a group of us intended a leap into deeper freedom and awareness. Instead of dreaming a new dream, a group of us were linking to dream as it is emerging. In other words, we were intending by uniting with INTENT such that within our being and beyond our being were united with intent unfolding in the moment or intent dreaming. It’s subtle, I know, to even try to put words to this act of over a month ago.
