Power

Birth - Ink on paper

Birth – Ink on paper

We are nothing as warriors of freedom if we are not in our power. But what is power? What does this mean? Where does it come from/go?

Power is not control. This is a common misperception of power. Power cannot make things happen, we do not gather up power and then use it. Power is not like a battery where we are charged up and then release at some later date. That is control. When we gather up and try to save our power, we are actually shutting it down and losing all control. We are stopping up the river, so to speak and thus have no access to power. A dam is a great analogy for power. But real dams do not stop the flow, they direct the flow and in directing it they intensify the power that can be drawn from the dam. And if that power is not used, not moving along the lines and consumed as intended, then it moves on and away. There is no past to power, there is no future to power, power just is.

One of our favorite saying is, power is as power moves. Motion, movement, constant flow is the only way power works (even from a scientific point of view!)… so when we say power is as power moves it means we are the conduit through which power moves. But where does power come from? It comes from all around us, mostly the sun. The sun is an intense field of energy which changes all the time. Through that change power moves out from that position of the sun’s assemblage point and blasts through our solar system granting the earth power. The earth has power too. It has a charged core and mantle that is heated by the sun which pulses (yes actually pulses like a heartbeat) energy through its systems. Also the moon through rotation around the earth pulses and thus the earth-moon creates power in the oceans and tides and weather. Power is thus distributed throughout our system as pure energy all the time.

The earth is efficient. Where there is no motion, there is death. Where there is death, there are other life forms that live off of that death and transform death back into life, power which is in constant motion. Just like silence is not quiet, power is not static nor stable. So we must learn as warriors of freedom to recognize where power is not moving through us and energize those areas to motion to get them back into the flow with power.

As we grow, we pile up layer upon layer of static repetitions. This in some ways allows us to use less power/energy to do things. You would not want to relearn how to walk every time you attempted it, so the pattern their becomes efficient and simplified so you can walk with less energy. But this is not where the trouble begins. The trouble begins when we create dams where there is no flow. A real dam always flows, a bad dam does not. For us dams are created in areas within our being that we have not recapitulated. These cause disease, both mental and physical. We can actually hold onto these dammed up energies for a lifetime. But eventually they are broken down and must flow into new life.

There was a man who held onto the fears and angers of his childhood with reckless abandon. He dammed the flow of energy and could not love (love is the flow of power)…. In the end his heart was clogged and he became racked with disease. His heart died, and thus the damn was broken and the release of energy was immediate and quick. This is exactly what the predator wants from us. To become damned up, fearful and bound energy.

When a normal person (warrior) dies who has been in the flow of energy, all damns completely recapitulated, their energy flows in a unique way. The power that had been flowing through the system, opens gently and a great subtle light is released. This light is full of power because it can ride on the same power that it had been throughout life. The body has nothing left to it and it is returned to the earth from whence form arose. But it returns as a gentle leaf blowing in the breeze. The predator cannot see this kind of death. The old ones called this burning with the fire within. But it is not a raging fire, not a random pulsation. It is a subtle maneuver. We release the inventory and stories and shadow of life to the earth where the predator has no power.

For the average person, who has done nothing but hold onto the patterns, is a loaded dam energy and there is a different kind of death. This death is vibrant and chaotic. This death has multiple colors to the seer. And this kind of death is racked with a flame that attracts the predator. The predator has only a brief period of time to consume this energy. First it becomes aware of that energy and speeds in faster than ordinary death. It does so to increase the fear and folly of our lives. People who die this way claim that they see their lives pass before their eyes. Of course, nothing is recapitulated, thus the recapitulation is done all at once in the moment of death… and thus the energy is consumed as it is recapitulated by….the predator. The earth cannot help in situations like this because the earth pulsates at a different vibration and has systems for breaking down normal death into its component parts. The earth moves slowly and steadily to return the components to their right place. And in working this way boosts those that die in freedom to another level of awareness. But lacking flow with real power, she can do nothing for those trapped by the predator.

It is a hard thing to watch someone die. They move to the pulse of their own patterns and if the work has not included an understanding of real power, then they are lost in the mire of death rather than the freedom death brings. Power is as power moves. We all have a chance to move within power, to align with it, to be a conduit. We all have a chance to build dams and increase our power resources if we remain in the flow. And we all have a chance to release the dams so we can return to the natural flow that is there.

As a warrior of freedom, we are in our power when we are in the flow. We see the movement of power and the resources we have to move power throughout our bodies, beings and lives. There is no disease but a loss of human form – a building up of dams, or the formulations we have created which are too dammed up. We have many resources to release and destroy those bad dams and create better functioning systems. But the key is to remain in the flow… to be constantly moving and allowing power to move through us always returning to the source, the universe where it circles around again and re-energizes our dance.

Power is as power moves…

“It’s Full of Stars”

Lodge Powers

Lodge Powers

One of my favorite scenes from 2001 Space Odyssey was when David Bowman confronted by the monolith says this statement in awe and wonder. Who can’t relate to this at some level, at some point? Standing in the middle of the red desert of Canyonlands at night looking up is the quintessential awesome experience of a lifetime. A place noted for the ability to see an infinity of stars by the naked eye. One cannot but feel small. But beyond this crushing awareness of how amazing it is, we sit in the middle of vast wonder over universe whose size we can actually describe but never truly encapsulate in awareness. We are only left with awe, wonder, and amazement.

Look within ourselves as bodies; fills one with awe. One can take an imaginary journey to the microcosmic level and visit vistas within our bodies. We are colony beings with processes that are going all the time. We are harmonious colonies of bacteria, viruses and organs adapted over millions of years to process energies to maintain a structure of nerves that for some amazing reason is self-aware, knows that it knows. This colony being is moving through an awareness of time and space… Science has reached outward and inward advancing awareness, knowledge and territories discovering multitudes of universes. We are literally a multitude of universes. Again, awesome!

The older we grow on our earth walk, mature with these bodies, the more we slow to take in knowledge and information that goes beyond the petty details we used to care about years before. Some of this is due to the simple fact that our biology no longer seeks reproduction and replication in some selfish duplication of our being. Some of this is due to the more present awareness that we have little time left. As warriors of awareness, we mature beyond fear, clarity and a drive for power – vain glories all! We know the ultimate battle of old age makes us confront infinity on daily.

Silence surrounds the warrior’s practice more and more. I spend more and more hours watching nature and science shows on the social control box in the living room. With deeper and deeper recapitulation, the politics and conflicts of the average human band of awareness seems so silly. Knowing that the light hitting our planet today was created in our sun long before the current predator of politics dominated human games keeps me sunning my awareness with fresh air and good food.

It becomes more important to me that we humans wake up to the co-creative struggle we are in partnership with the earth. We are directing the evolution of everything on this planet. And this pales in comparison to who will win the next election. Rising seas, drought, fires, water purity, over population in other words the real causes of the real difficulties for the human band interest me more than anything. What inheritance are we giving the children of the planet?

We must act. We must look deep and see that it’s full of stars! It, the overwhelming awareness of awareness is full of stars. Everything was made in the stars. Everything was created within the vast compressions and explosions of forces which are awesome. Thus our thoughts must change, our focus must move back and forth to awe. We must return to our real selves and act. Action is the only cure. We must shed this bizarre naiveté that we can do nothing, we are powerless. We must become responsible…

There are subatomic particles and energetic forces that we can right now bend and move to truly heal ourselves and our planet. We are in the center of the greatest battle in history. We are in the battle of knowledge, which is now so vast and available that we can no longer deny… we are the creators of this band of awareness. We are starseed and wunderkinds. Why not chose something new, something different, something awesome! “It’s full of stars!”

Insane Apes!

ApesCaesarOne must have a sense of humor simply to breath in this life. Awareness, like all randomly occurring things in our universe, is diverse and varied. In fact it is its diversity and variety that makes the universe a great place to explore… or maybe this universe among the multi-verses out there… one can only wonder in awe at it all.

This band of awareness is so silly. We grew memories to assist in our survival amongst the natural predators… we can recall how to hunt, how to become animals, how to do all sorts of things. And rather than tie this into instinct, we tie it into stories which have the flexibility to change with the times and adapt to lineal changes. Aren’t we neat! Yet that very memory becomes our most tireless tyrant. It dogs our heels with flashbacks and automatic reactions to situations sometimes even before they occur.

“Everything is medicine….”

Healing Bear

Healing Bear

My benefactor, elder of his tradition, said this to me on numerous occasions.   The record of his lineage was passed from generation to generation through groups of individuals that passed knowledge by word of mouth. Only in the last hundred years did this knowledge become corrupted by the influence of writing and the incursion of foreign takers. He maintained that if the people, any people, could understand this simple statement, much could be healed… between people, between us and the earth, but mostly within our own beings.

He noted that when we define anything with a negative connotation we then set ourselves up to be toxified and brought down. This did not mean that everything is in harmony with our highest good, far from that. There are medicines that are downright nasty for us and should be avoided, but they have their purpose in the grand scheme of the earth.  He feared that we might have released too many of those medicines for the long term survival of our species. And he was always reminding me of the earth’s place in the center of all medicine because she is the source of all life and energy which creates medicine and hosts our spiritual journey with her.

Boundaries

thCAVF8G49Where does the earth end? Is the ground the limit? A ball of iron, nickel, oxygen, hydrogen and a ton of other stuff all compact into a stable ball twirling around a furnace in the sky. Scientists are often asked at what point does the atmosphere end? That question depends on how you define the atmosphere. What we get depends on what we are looking for. If you really look at it correctly, we don’t live on the earth as though there is some bizarre separation between us and her. The flaw in that language creates a flaw in our relationship with her. We live in the earth, for the atmosphere which goes out five definable layers is over 248 miles thick!   And even those definitions are just a matter of pressure point differentials and density issues.

So perception creates actions. When we think we live on the earth and not in her, we think ourselves unique and separate from her. We allocate everything else, all other animals, to that amorphous thing called “nature” and creating such a definition creates that “other”, which is a mystery we can thus ignore in our daily lives. When our actions, our choices are founded on this, it discounts our co-creative participation in the flow of that which is earth. We are fundamentally a part of her and she is fundamentally part of us.

Mountain Meditation, Ink on paper original, framed

Link to Skyfall

We sit quietly at the edge of the nothing.  And stare deeply into the nothing.  In awe we notice the utter simplicity and beauty of every moment.  We cry a deep a noble cry within this beauty.  It moves us to words, it moves us to silence, it moves us to paint, it moves us to do something.  Nothing seems so awesome in the face of the intent of the universe then to constantly create, co-create and spiral from and to infinity.

As warriors of awareness this edge point is where we live, on the verge, in the moment ready to leap into….  We gather strength where the average person cowers in terror at the awesomeness and wonder.  We gather a love of all that far surpasses the trivialities of vain glorious desires.  We gather momentum to turn around and return to the village where things seem so destined for self destruction.

The artist of awareness must stumble, must fall, must endure hardships in the face of infinity.  This strengthens our resolve.  This does not harden our edge points, but rather softens them to a state of plasmic fluidity to burn with the essence of life.  We have with this energy choices beyond the norm.  We have the courage to face the dying of the light.  We have the energy because we hold on to nothing but infinity and the freedom to choose something new, something better.

It has been the warriors who make changes to first attention, with thoughts, images, words and deeds.  Warriors that don’t capitulate to the dominant matrix mind.  Warriors that throw everything they have at the world, for it is just this one life that is worth living in infinite freedom and beauty.  Take the words of Howard Zinn.

Who cannot in the face of such words not want to be an activist?  Who would not care to round up the revolution in the face of all that is?  Who would not lay down ones life for the chance to make a difference in this world?  Especially after being in the desert, in the forest, on the edge ready to leap into the abyss.

We struggle so hard to recapitulate, to gather our energies for the definitive journey.  Yet while we are resting, we can also make a difference.  And we can shift this band of awareness into something….. awesome!

Death as the Advisor and the Nine Types

EnneagramChartOnlyA warrior seeks out knowledge, even information, to understand the mold of man. Yet warriors cannot get trapped by the fixation that systems of knowledge and information present us with. Rather we treat these structures as insight into the mold of man and they represent a possibility to recapitulate at a deep level. We talk about recapitulation and stories or lines can be recapitulated all the time, but there are a few amazing systems which offer the warrior access to a structure and method of recapitulating that can be extremely helpful when we start the process.

When I noted that death, the awareness of our contract with death, hits us, there is a strange and powerful response. First of all the self becomes aware of the self in a reflective process of knowing that it knows it will lose form eventually. This self reflective hall of mirrors is sometimes called the mind at its beginning. But more interestingly it is self importance at its critical emergence or emergency. This hall of mirrors is frightening to the spark of pure intent that we are within. If we take a few minutes and practice taking responsibility for our death then link with silence, there is a seed, a moment that we can all recall when the story of our lives began – the existential moment of terror. Often it is buried under years of stories, default behaviors and denials which cover the source of our original moment of self awareness.
